Man United 3-0 Westham: Man United teenage sensation shine as Højlund and Garnacho stars

Manchester United solidified their position in the Premier League with a convincing 3-0 victory over West Ham United at Old Trafford. In a match that saw the Red Devils dominate proceedings from start to finish, goal from Rasmus Højlund and a double from teenage sensation, Alejandro Garnacho sealed a comprehensive win for the hosts.

Manchester United started the game on the front foot, pressing West Ham high up the pitch and controlling possession. The opening goal came in the 23rd minute through Rasmus Højlund, who capped off a fine team move. After a series of quick passes around West Ham's penalty area, Højlund found himself with space at the edge of the box and curled a beautiful shot into the left side corner, leaving West Ham goalkeeper Areola with no chance.
West Ham struggled to create meaningful opportunities, with United's midfield trio effectively neutralizing any threat. Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek found it particularly challenging to navigate through United's press, resulting in a lack of service to Jarrod Bowen upfront.
The second half saw Manchester United continue their dominance, with Alejandro Garnacho doubling the lead in the 49th minute. Bruno Fernandes played an incise pass to Garnacho who saw his deflected shot from inside the post went past the helpless Alphonso Areola to make it two-nil.
West Ham attempted to mount a comeback, introducing Maxwell Cornet and Kalvin Philips to inject some creativity and pace. However, United's defense, led by Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez, remained resolute, thwarting any attempts by the Hammers to get back into the game.
The icing on the cake for Manchester United came in the 84th minute when 19-year-old Alejandro Garnacho got his second of the day. The young Argentine was put through by Scott MacTominay and he showed brilliant composure inside the box to fire into the bottom left corner.
Although the Red Devils will rue Lisandro Martinez's injury but Erik ten Hag's tactical setup deserves praise, with United's high press and quick transitions proving too much for West Ham to handle.
Manchester United's 3-0 victory over West Ham at Old Trafford was a testament to their attacking prowess and tactical discipline under Erik ten Hag. The win keeps United firmly in the hunt for the Premier League chase, while West Ham will need to regroup and bounce back quickly to maintain their European aspirations.
