The victims who were recently affected by the flood in Ugbokpo Apa local government area of Benue, is said to have called for proper investigation by appropriate authority as the relief materials were not in their reach.
It has become necessary to draw the attention of the appropriate authorities as a matter of urgency to launch thorough investigation into hijacked/ diversion of the relief material meant to be distributed to affected Ugbokpo flood victims by State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). The action by some local government council officials, party stalwart and few individuals who rightly involved in this act is scandalous, uncalled for and evil in action which is target at damming the hard earned reputation of the current leadership of APC from Apa.
It could be recall that, after the heavy downpour recently in Ugbokpo town (the headquarters of Apa) was submerged and flooded. Thank to Hon. Yusuf Elaigwu current Senior Special Adviser to Governor of Benue State who promptly act on fact after gathering a good data of the affected. This single action proved that he's ready to put the people interest first as a young appointee.
Unknown and so surprising to many, there's relief material for those who were affected last year (2022) which is yet to be distribute by the Agency (SEMA) and was ordered to be release immediately to affected household before this year (2023) materials will follow sequentially.
Hon. Yusuf Elaigwu, have done his best in ensuring his people get this relief material to alleviate their suffering in this difficult moment and the question is why are some people trying to frustrate and sabotage his proactive effort. Did they have any hidden agenda? If there's any ; it must not be accepted in any way by anybody. Hence those involved in this action need to pay for their evil act. This will serve as a better lessons for others in future.
According to the investigation so far, both the local government DGSA and some few APC excos in Apa are directly involved in this anti-people scandals. APC in Apa can't afford to act in a way that people will doubt the party stand to deliver people-oriented service to the populace; now that they are yet to take ful charged of the affair in the council.
Those involved should also note that, any greed and selfish attitude that will not speak well for the party is unacceptable and a bad name to critical stakeholder from Apa LGA such as Hon. Commissioner for Power and transportation Bar. Omale Omale and SSA to governor, Hon Elaigwu Yusuf and many other notable individuals who have high reputation both in the party and politics in general, no progressive minded personality from the council is in support of this ugly act and we should all rise to condemn this unhealthy attitude and put all effort to change the narrative for good and for the best interest of Apa people. Myself and many other progressive ambassador can't watch those leading us in the party of Apa to continue to do same thing in old bad way and expect different results in a good way.
Finally I call for full investigation, punishment and sanctions to those involved in this inhumane act.
