Worried and pained by the pathetic situation of Apa-Agatu Federal constituency occasioned by the 5 months power outage.
Comrade Adanu Isaiah has visited the Commissioner for Power and Transport Hon. Barr. Omale Omale in his Makurdi temporal office.
Adanu Isaiah said he was in the Commissioner's office to officially notify and intimate him on the cry of their people having suffered Power outage for 5 five months now.
According to Adanu, the absence of NEPA light in the two local government area of Benue state has brought untold hardship and paralysed economic activities.
The youth leader added and stressed that because of the removal of the fuel subsidy by the federal government, grinding engine operators in the absence of NEPA light has astronomically increased their grinding fee to 300% making it pretty difficult for some house holds to grind their corn and cassavas thereby resorting to local pounding.
He further confirmed that barbing Saloon in the area now charge higher fee to barb children of school age to the detriment of their poor parents whose sources of livelihood which solely depends on farm produce which has now been ravaged by recent flood incidence.
The good governance Advocate called on the Commissioner to as a matter of urgency do everything within his power to address the light challenge that had bedeviled the area for long.
The Apa born, Abuja base youth activist used the opportunity of the visit to informed the Commissioner that through communal efforts, Ugbokpo community bought and replaced 5 damaged electricity poles courtesy of Mr. James Mathew of the ICPC Abuja. who donated 200k while Hon. Pastor Ojema Ojotu, reps member Abuja, equally contributed 50k respectively.
Adanu promised continued loyalty and support of the youth from the federal constituency to him and his principal the Governor of Benue state His Excellency Rev, Fr. Hycinth Alia, adding that the APC led Administration in the state has so far within 100 days in office done spectacularly well and called for its substainance.
Responding, the Hon. Commissioner expressed gratitude to Adanu Isaiah for his consistent advocacy for Apa- Agatu'd cause adding that his countless positive activism has put the federal constituency on the right pedestal and their situation on the front burner of public discourse.
On the prolonged 5 months outage the Commissioner expressed shock and sympathy with the communities that have remained in darkness for months owing to power light out that had befallen them.
He acknowledged that his Personal Assistant Hon. Abu Sylvester Amali has earlier and unofficially intimated him on the development which promoted him to reach out to the appropriate authority in Otukpo to finding a lasting solution to the reoccurring outage that has caused the good people of Apa-Agatu untold pains and anguish.
Barr Omale Omale promised to unearthed the mistery sorrounding the whole black out through appropriate committee to be constituted in no time.
The political leader of Apa-Agatu assures the people of the area of state government direct interventions to address their genuine concern ranging from social welfare, security, education, health and prompt payment of workers salary, pensions and gratuity.
