In our village when it is springtime
It is our moment of great sublime
Fathers go to the farm early in the morning
Music of mortars and pistils ring in the morning.
Young boys ride bicycles to school
Young girls nurse the younger siblings
While mothers joins fathers in the farm
Every young man possesses a farm tool
We joyfully join the culture of plantings.
After school, boys went to rear the cattle
And there we hunt idiots, rabbits, and rats
We roast, and eat, and drink from the brooks
We eat guavas, and enjoy the sugarcane
And we play in the drizzle of the rain.
In the village square men play whott and ludo
Some play draught, can't you hear their shouts?
Pipers play and sing the ancient songs
Others dance to the music of the pipe
While old men sit under the trees.
In evening fathers meet to drink and eat
While mothers retire to the huts
The girls usually sing and dance
While the boys mostly plays hide and sick
But the old ones tell the young ancient stories.
