BROKEN DREAMS (Poem)

BROKEN DREAMS

I met him in school,

God! He looked damn cool,

He studies SLT and me, MLT

though he proposed in secret,

I knew that he really meant it.

He’d say, ‘I love you, double,'

& I’d say that I love him triple,

when we resumed for year two,

we started planning life after school,

together we did lots of things like books.

he called me honey, I called him baby,

this lover promised for better n worse,

that his love is ready to chew my flaws,

we studied love as our borrowed course, &

dreamed to raise kids in the godly course.

so today, our dreams are hatched,

I’m in my white; he, in his own black,

I try to be brave, but here at his grave,

I stand, pouring tears as all I could gave,

Ah! Gideon, did not tell me he had cancer!
