The people of Ologba and Ekaida communities, both in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State earlier today received relief materials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) courtesy, the Reps Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, Hon. Samuel Odagboyi Godday.
Recall that, both communities have been ravaged by more than one decade of clashes leading to the complete evacuation of the people from their ancestral homes to settle in neighbouring communities as refugees.
Concerned about this unfortunate situation, the Reps Member approached the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to come to the aid of his people.
Today, several items worth millions of naira was distributed to the two communities which include; one hundred and fifty (150) bags of cement, one hundred and fifty (150) bundles of roofing sheets.
The relief materials were provided as a means to enable the people return back home and begin normal livelihood in thier father lands.
Presenting the items to the communities on behalf of the Reps Member, Engr. Peter Ochohepo re-echoed the aim of the gesture, while urging conflicting parties to sheathe their swords and pursue peace with one another which is a major bedrock of every societal growth and development
The community representatives of Ologba and Ekaida communities both in Obagaji ward, Agatu LGA expressed gratitude to the Honourable Member for taking their cries to the ears of Federal Government while praying for permanent peace accross Agatu nation.
