OCHIDOMA AGABA IDU IS PROPOSSING TO CHANGE IDOMA CULTURAL ATTIRE, WHAT'S YOUR TAKE

AM inspirational, indispensable and easily digested words that demonstrate his love and concern for IDOMA Nation.

But my only worry is the proposal to change of our famous RED and BLACK colour with a lean excuse of uniting the IDOMA Nation.

It is important to note here that red and black colour has never been a subject of disunity among the IDOMA Nation.

Instead of His Royal Majesty (Agaba'idu) to encourage our brothers from obi and Oju LGA to see the need to promote and project the Famous IDOMA Red and Black colour we are now projecting another colour as if we are confused people.

It is important at this juncture to let us know that the Igede people have no issues with our colour so you can't use colour to unit them with other part of IDOMA.

The RED and Black colour is for all the IDOMAS in the 22 District, the Igede colour in use now was introduced around 2003 as a sign of protest that they are not part of IDOMA.

My question is that when did Igede people suggest that the only thing that will give them sense of belonging is by dropping of the Famous RED and BLACK colour of IDOMA Nation and replace it with four colours.

It is important to point out here that a cultural symbol is respected and celebrated by outsider base on the length of time it in practice.

In this critical time that we are struggling for national and international recognition and awareness, IDOMA Nation should not confuse the world by changing the Famous colour every one identity us with rather we should promote and project to the outside world.

We should take example from our Tiv brother

Even with the presence of Etilo and Jukun under their throne

Their Famous colour still remains Black and White and it always remains a beauty to behold.

If this is allowed, the impression is that any Och'Idoma can come and change it to another colour too

Because there are other part of IDOMA that were using RED and YELLOW before they dropped it for RED and BLACK.

Human naturally respect thrones because of the mystery and preservation of Identity. may the reigns of our new Och'Idoma HRM Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji not make mockery of our identity.

If we say change is constant, may a day not come that people will say that they don't want Och'Idoma throne again.

When we introduce change, let be mindful of the value people place on those things.

I have never seen Tor tiv in any official occasion wearing any other colours except their RED and BLACK.

That is why the Tivs are respect nationally when it comes to cultural events.
