I hope we are all doing great and all preparing our minds towards our first outreach for this phase of leadership?
I will like to appreciate everyone for the massive contributions so far, I must confess its been easy working with you all with great minds and heart for the development of our host Community and nation at large.
It is worthy of note, that there's a gross moral decadence and lack of qualitative leadership in the society today, it is to this cause that we as a CDS group which is a part of a cardinal points of the NYSC, a scheme aimed at National growth through Community Development Service have risen up to this challenge to raise a generation of leaders by guiding the teenagers on how to become better citizens which will in turn make them future leaders.
The EDITORIAL AND PUBLICITY CDS GROUP which is a part of this, is enviossioned to carry the burden of inconcatting National values and the enlightenment of people on socio-cultural education to aid human development which is key to Community and National development.
Therefore we the Editorial and Publicity CDS have set the banner up for a campaign and sensitization program tagged: BECOMING A BETTER CITIZEN AND A FUTURE LEADER. this outreach is aimed focused on Secondary Schools as a take off point.
Under the afore mentioned topic will be discussed sensitive issues that has caused this plague, and this issues will be addressed by proffering possible solutions to this problems through proper communication and rendering of proper information. Some of this issues are;
1. Wrong Association
2. Pre-marital sex
3. The lack of respect and regards to authorities and the elderly.
1. WRONG ASSOCIATION
It has been confirmed that the cause of many corruption in the society today is rooted to wrong company, Keeping the wrong company has a way of killing the potentials of any person, you can't plan to be up tomorrow and remain with those down today or those not planning about their future, that's why they say birds of same feathers flock together, it is therefore good for any person who wants to be a leader tomorrow to choose his or her friend wisely.
This is because if the wrong choice of friendship is made, the negative impacts of such friends rob naturally on the person, it is wrong association that leads people to things like;
- Drug abuse
- Stealing (robbery)
- etc. and we know that such people don't have any place in the society and can never be considered for any leadership position, rather when caught in such act face the law.
2. PRE-MARITAL SEX
This is another thing that has destroyed the life of many youths, when engaged in such act it can lead to pregnancy which is the cause of early parenting it can also lead to killer diseases like HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases that kills, it also leads to dropping out of school which causes termination of destiny. It can also cause mental traumer.
This is why is good to avoid totally this act and any person that will want to lure you into it. It is a sin against God
3. RESPECT
One of the things that makes leaders is ability to respect, respect here is to;
- God and His principles
- Parents
- Teachers
- Elders in general. And even your mates and those smaller than you
- Religious rulers
And the law of the land.
Respect they say is reciprocal, when you respect people they respect you back..
Note: this is to help us as a guide to what we shall be discussing, everything should be centered on this, so the we don't say too many things seeing we have a limited time.
The duty of the PROs is to coordinate the delivery of lectures, Introduction of speakers and monitor the timings of speaker, create room for interaction (questions and answers) after any session if need be and brief contributions, if need be.
I urge us all to prepare ourselves (not only the speakers), please do bear with me if there be any typographical or grammatical error, this is a straight typed thought as i feel the need for this.
