The immediate past Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Pastor Ojema Ojotu has promised the initiator and organisers of Agatu PDP Youth Football Tournament that, he will take full sponsorship of the Tournament, extend it to Apa and make it all embracing when elected as the House Of Representative Member, Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency come 2023.
He advise the participants and lovers of sports in Agatu to use sports as a means to achieve peace, unity and tolerance in the area. He equally advised players to always develop spirit of sportsmanship which has to do with respect for the rules of the game and once ability to accept defeat in good faith, since in every competition, there must be a winer and a looser.
He made the promise on Thursday, 20th Jan. 2022 at Obagaji Centre Field during the opening ceremony of the tournament. Thereafter, he kick off the ball to officially kick start the Football Tournament.
Earlier, the initiator of the Tournament, Hon Mamuda appreciated the Youth Commissioner emmeretues, Pst Ojema Ojotu for honouring their invitation, the adviser wish him well in his aspirations.
Obagaji Team and Alokpa team played the first game of the tournament which ended 1- 0 in favour of Obagaji.
The front line Apa/Agatu House Of Rep. Aspirant under the platform of PDP Hon. Ojema Ojotu also paid a condolence visit to the family of Mr Ibrahim Jonathan which lost two members of the family as result of an accident that occurred at Obagaji on the 19th Jan. 2022. He expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the deceased family and prays for the eternal repose of the souls of the departed and divine peace and comfort for the family, friend and associate.
