The Ogun state chapter of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the death of a driver in an accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
According to accounts, the collision occurred about 02:3 a.m., involving the male driver's Nissan pick-up with the license plate AAB 240 ZY.
"The suspected cause of the lone accident was excessive speed, which led to the loss of control, and he was stuck inside the vehicle," Florence Okpe, FRSC spokesman in Ogun State, stated.
She further stated that the trapped body had been recovered and transported to Sagamu's Idera Hospital morgue, and that the crashed vehicle had been pulled off the road.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun, has warned motorists not to speed, especially when there is heavy vehicular traffic.
