The issues of sex for marks in the various higher institution in this country is too alarming and effecting the schools and the academic standard of the students.
It is obvious that the students and the lecturers getting involved in this dubious act in exchanging sex for marks.
Speaking with the legitblog in an interview with the some students in Taraba state higher institutions, some students revealed that it is a game of via vasa.
A student who addressed as Sarah said, "My name is Sarah, am a student of Taraba state poly, well, first of all i will like to say, that from the word "Sex" it has to do with human gender and that determine welther male or female but in this platform, it is very important if students or members of the society are been educated in this particular aspect in other to know what to do and what not to do in a society or in an academic environment concerning the issue of gender or sex for marks as the case may be. To enable them to know how to live among themselves, how to relate and how to associate socially."
However, "First of all, the issue of sex for marks is not encouraging in an academic environment, and it is something I would not like to be hearing or talk about. but if only the younger generation are educated concerning this particular issue of sex for marks and also address the lecturers who are into this dubious act to put an end to it otherwise it will exccalate beyond control and it will affect the younger generation's academic background. The kind of knowledge we have when we were growing up is totally different from what we are facing currently in the educational system particularly in Nigerian."
Stressed further, She said, "One more thing i will like to attributed is prayer, that is the supremecy because only the internation of the Supremecy can bring an end to this. And if education must continue then, our next generation and prevail let them change their ways and do what is expected of them and know how to hand it."
Further more, She said "Honestly speaking, it is not good for a student to have an affairs with the lecturer, niether the lecturer with student, the only relationship i think a student should have with the lecturer is a mutual relationship which will enable the student to understand the lecturer. Let for instance a lecturer comes into the class, and lectured but because I have bad feeling towards him or because he did something to me that I don't like, i will hate him and also hate the course he is taking."
"They should be a mutual relationship between lecturer and the students this will make you understand his lecture, with the mutual relationship between you and lecturer will enable you understand his course and you will also have passion and reason to always attend his lecture. So is not advisable for a student to have an affairs other than mutual relationship between students and the lecturer."
An other student said, "I am Ideyeca Sunday, my opinion on this matter is that, it's not good for a student to exchange his body for marks the only key to academic success is determination and concentration, bend down and achieve the purpose at which you are in school and nothing less. You can see that those who knows what brought them to school are serious with their studies while those who are in to the act of sex will say, let me go and meet him is it not just for sex! Let me give him one round or spend a night with him so that he will give me what I want. You can imagine that In world today especially in this country, a graduate don't know anything for instance, sometimes we see them on TV and some of this short comedy they will ask corper and they cannot answer or speak good English while because they pass through their lecturer in doing what they want so that they will graduate at the end of the day, some who are intelligent in the class will not get A or B while those that doesn't know anything in the class will end up with A which is very poor."
However, "I advise those ladies or the set of people in that act to stop what they are doing because it will not take them anywhere rather it will affect their intellect. Let me put it in this way, in this our time some people are think that sleeping with lecturers is more important than to be reading at home. So they spent most of their times in club and on Monday, the set of people will be in sleeping class and at the end of the day, they will meet the lecturer to find their way out and the lecturer will demand for sex to pass them."
Speaking further she said, "The act of lecturer having an affairs with students in an exchange of sex for marks is very unfair and it is also against the law of the school. And I don't think it's a good thing for lecturer to have sex with his students because it will not help the student academically nor her performance in class. The school has already bound such an act in the higher institutions."
An other student who "I am a new student so I don't understand the system that much but I think they are higher authority that one can report such case to either the lecturer demanding sex or student offer herself to the lecturer to have sex with her and gave her marks. I think you can also report such case to the police because they are also against it. (She don't want her name to be mentioned)."
Speaking further she said, "My name is Glory, am a student of Taraba state poly, I subject we report the lecturer but I don't really know who we should report the lecturer to either the head of department or the president. It is not good for a lecturer to involved himself in such acg nor the student because if they leave them, they will continue and they will lead others into such evil act."
I am Damaris Michael, the issue of sex for marks in the higher institutions is becoming alarming in most of the institutions and very bad, frankly speaking it is not good and they should put an end to it. If not, it will affect the lives of the younger generation.
I am by name John Mali, my own opinion about the issue of sex for score is that it very unfortunate that lecturer and student are into such act in the higher I situations and I think it is very wrong. In an academic environment I think score should be awarded base on the student academic performance and not the other way round. Now, in a situation where by fifty (50) students are in the class, some scored thirty (30) and some scored fifty (50), if at all you are to award them according to their academic performances, the people with fifty (50) marks should be seen highest but a situation where by you are demanding for sex from students before scoring them, it is totally condemnable and i think it's high time the school management bring out modelity to help checkmate those lecturers find in such act because as you can see, in terms of awarding grade for sex, you will discover that a graduate could not stand to defend her certificate so there is a need for it to be stopped.
For me I can't meet a lecturer to have sex with me to give me either upper grade or score, I won't do that because I came here mainly for learning it is left for me to bend down my head and learn so that they will be no regret, that is my own opinion. I can't meet my lecturer for sex, if I meet him, I meet to ask him questions about his course and if a lecturer demands for sex from me I won't agree. I will confidently tell him that I can't serve two maters at the same time as my main purposely on campus is for learning and not to offer my body for marks. This is an illegal act, is not good and even the lecturers themselves should know that such actis very bad of them. A good lecturer should know that his primary purpose of been in the environment is to teach the students not just his course but also good character and morals but any lecturer who involved himself in such act is not good enough and he is not teaching them to know the right things to do in the society and across. Sometimes those students involving themselves in such useless act don't even know what she is doing to herself at that moment as what was on her mind was to have the marks. After she might have gotten the score and she would be able to defend her certificate or provide herself worth the certificate when the need arise and this is affecting a lots of students in our model day.
According to my understanding, it is an illegal act and is not even good for a student to give herself out to lecturer before scoring her.
To me, any lecturer caught doing such thing is suppose to be send to jail because he is distorying the lives of students from achieving their goal and the lecturer should be disciplined legally and any lady caught in the act should be expired from school. I am Emmanuel.
In such case you will meet the school director first and report the lecturer to him and the director will definitely take action, it is not good for a student to meet a lecturer to sleep with her to give her marks and if a student do so, they are some lecturers who will not do it, they will not tell the student anything and some will just keep quite and while they are quite, they know what they are doing either to score her or not. My name is Marcy Moses, a student of Taraba state poly, what I have to say in this situation is that the government should stand for it because a lot of atrocity have been happening in this school, we have been seeing it happening some of them I don't even like saying it because it has been happening and I am a victim of one so government should stand for it and for the students who are into that act should stay away from it. I don't even know how to put it because there is no way you can say you will stay away from lecturers in your department no way. Student should report such case to someone in the higher position.
