Mason Greenwood wins ‘Player of the Month’ award for August

Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood has been rewarded for his fine form in August by winning the club’s internal ‘Player of the Month’ award. 

The 19-year-old has started the season in inspired form, scoring in all three of United’s Premier League games so far.

After an impressive end to last season, Greenwood was included in Gareth Southgate’s provisional squad to this summer’s European Championships but the teenager had to pull out due to a longstanding groin injury.

Instead, he returned early to pre-season training and the extended break seems to have paid off, with all three goals so far coming in decisive moments.
