The Federal Roads Safety Corps Taraba State command has flagged-off it's ember months sensitization compaign 2021 with the theme " Avoid night travels" to curb the high rate of auto crashes on the highway in the State and beyond.
The campaign had officers of FRSC Jalingo take to the major streets, Motor parks, religious gatherings and markets places to sensitize the people on the need to drive safely as the year runs to an end.
The sector Commander FRSC Jalingo Mrs. Selina L. Williams who led the campaign among other officers of the Corps at the office of the Chairman Taraba state Board of Internal Revenue, reaffirmed the partnership existing between the board and FRSC in ensuring safety on the highway.
She said, " We have been having meeting together, FRSC cannot do without the board of internal Revenue and the Board can not do without us because we are all partners in progress and as partners in progress, we have a common interest and the interest is that we work all to save lives of our people, to make sure that there is no accident"
Mrs, Williams stated that, the only way to reduce road accidents and frequent auto crashes especially this ember months is to ensure strict observance of traffic laws, avoid drunk-driving, night journeys and even to install speed limit system in the vehicles such will signal drivers everytime they attempt over speeding.
She said people should be more safety conscious and avoid night travels taking in consideration the security challenges in the Nation.
"The focus of our this year ember months campaign is that we maintain safety, avoid night travels and enjoy quality roads experience".
She also condemned how some people will be travelling for end of the year festivals, taking unnecessary risk as some would want to meet up and others trying to make money, therefore undermining their safety and other roads users. She therefore advised that people should plan their journey as early as possible in other to avoid rushes and life taking risks.
Speaking for the chairman of the Board of Internal Revenue, the Director of accessment Mr Bala Abdulkadri welcome the officers and obliged that the board will continue to work to ensure a smooth synergy.
However, the ground finale of the campaign will be on Wednesday 22 September 2021 by 10am at the FRSC State command, Elohim suite along FGGC road Jalingo. it's promise to feature eye check up for drivers and many more raid safety enlightenment, therefore the general public is invited.
