The city of Otukpo came alive today the 29th September, 2023 as dignitaries from all walks
of lives converge on the city of Otukpo to witness the grand breaking commissioning of first of it's kind, a maternity and specialist eye centre located at the heart of Idoma traditional seat of power.
During the commissioning Arc. Sunny Echono who undertook the ceremonial cutting of the robes which signifies commencement of operational activities lauded the entire concept of having a modern health care facility with state of the art equipment specifically dedicated to addressing rampant cases of eye defects and poor optical vision by locals describing the gesture as one in town and the initiator and benefactor as highly industrious, down to earth and a gift to Idoma nation.
He called on those resedents in benue state and north Central to patronize the hospital with a view to encouring and sustainng the magnificent concept.
He appeal to government at all levels to partner with the hospital to address the health care challenge and needs of our people whom he said are economically disadvantaged.
Earlier on his part the Founder and Managing director of Okida hospital and eye center Dr. Godwin Ochowechi Adejoh emphasized the multiplier effect of the hospital to include job opportunities and health care needs of the people adding that it was a concept aimed at giving back to the society that has made him.
The former two terms Director General of National Eye institute Kaduna and immediate past Labour Party Deputy Governorship candidate in benue state in 2023 general election promised continued synergy with relevant authorities to ensure affordability and accessibility in it's services.
The Benue State Commissioner for power and Transport Barr. Omale Omale who graced the occasion along others expressed appreciation to both Dr Godwin Adejoh and the Executive Secretary of Tetfund Arc. Sunday Echono for their collaboration describing it's a partners in progress for the growth and development of Idoma land, assuring state government supports in the area of stable electricity and condusive working environment to enable the hospital achieve it lofty target and goals.
