The Judith Obla Memorial Kidney Center, built by the Godwin Obla Foundation and donated the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo, has commenced full operation with a three-day free treatment for Dialysis Patients.
Flagging off the medical exercise, the Vice Chancellor of the federal university of health science, Otukpo, Prof. Innocent Ujah, said the exercise was aimed at giving free medical treatment for dialysis patients as part of giving back to the society in honor of late Judith Obla, and the donor, Godwin Obla (SAN).
He called on every dialysis patients in and around the state to take advantage of the rare opportunity provided by the Foundation in conjunction with the Teaching Hospital to access the free treatment
He also called on the public to patronize the teaching hospital as quality doctors, and facilities have been provided in the hospital for their medical care.
Dr. Echobu Okpe, spoke on behalf of the Chief Medical Director of the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo, Prof. Silas Ochejele, by thanking the Vice-Chancellor and the Godwin Obla Foundation and said that the free treatment is also part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Teaching Hospital to complement the state-of-the-art facilities donated to by the Godwin Obla Foundation.
He encouraged the general public as well to use FUHSTHO as their health facility which has well-enough trained medical personnel in areas of specialised services, with medical consultants to cover pathology, pharmacology, obstetrics, neurological, plastic surgeons, alongside staff with committed spirit and the right attitude to work while in delivering services to people.
