Once Beaten, Forever Shy
You may name me a charlatan
But it isn't what you speculate
I am only cautious
To let you in on what is pivot to me
Double-faced or tripled isn't hypocrisy
I am only letting you in
In on what is required
Last I showed it all,
I was reduced to a pulp
Once beaten, forever shy
My eyes mumbled in details
All you craved to know
My mouth was too weary to haul
What I bore within
I'm gripped. I'm pressed
If I'm not helped
I will be extinguished
And when you finally realize
My candle would be out
Once beaten, forever shy
Take your fingers of verdict off my face
You took what was dear to me
And sprinkled it as salt on a meal
Inviting a crowd, you feasted on it
I'll leave it as it is
Cool, steady, and calm
When you walk out that door
Ensure to shut yourself out
Cos, if you have a glimpse
On my other faces
You'd know, I've been forbearing enough
Once beaten, forever shy.
