Let me love you, my dearest one

Let me bask in the light of your sun

Let me cherish every moment we share

Let me hold you close, show you I care

I have heard that before, a love song, to love.

I don't want to fall prey of love, 

Else I might need to pray to heal.

Sing not this song, it reminds of the scars in my heart.

Let me be there for you, from the start

Let me wipe away your tears when you cry

Let me be your comfort, your shoulder to rely

I once trusted twice in their heart,

How can yours be different? I know this part.

The same promise they made, still, they made me cry.

I sought for comfort in their soul, it wasn't a place to trust.

Let me be your shelter, your closest kin
