The Editorial and publicity CDS Group, Jalingo Taraba State organizes Spelling Bee, Talkshow and Quiz competition in different secondary Schools within the State headquarters, Jalingo.
The flag off of the competitions took place at De–Bas Suit Behind the NYSC Secretariat Jalingo, Taraba State on the 8th, July 2022.
At the end of the exclusive spelling Bee, Talkshow and Quiz competition, the Government Girls college Jalingo emerged winners of the First INTER-SCHOOL Spelling Bee, Talkshow and Quiz Competition with 62.66 points. Follow by the BAMES EXCELLENT and JETTERS MONTESSORI schools as the second position with the same 56 points.
These competition was organized by the NYSC Editorial and Publicity Community Development Service Group (CDS) to build the students IQ, Boldness and intellects and lots more which will enable them to be competent enough to face the societal challenges and also become an end voice in their time..
The hug project embarked on by the Editorial and Publicity CDS Group was in two phases. The first phase focused on the establishment of press club in five schools in Jalingo which was followed by Sensitisation and coaching on speech writing skills, research and interpersonal skills in over fifteen schools in the same State. While the second phase, was channeled to the competition proper between the schools to encourage Oneness, Peace and Harmony among students of various secondary schools across the State.
During the flag off of the competition at De–Bas Suit Behind the NYSC Secretariat Jalingo, the Editorial and Publicity CDS President, COPA, Patience Ene Abah lavishes her heartfelt appreciation to the NYSC Bodies for the privilege given to channel their own contribution to the community development, State and the nation at large.
However, it's my pleasure to inform the gathering that the competition was organised with the aim of providing a solid platform for Education networking and information sharing that will bring transformation and enhance societal development.
I thanked all the Participants for their enthusiastic participation and urged the students to take their academics seriously as this experience will help them stay motivated and as well, go a long way to help them attain higher scores in essays and other tests of English usage.
Dignitaries in attendance at the Competition were management staff of the NYSC, Taraba State, led by the State Coordinator Mr Anthony M. Nzoka who was represented by the Assistant Director CDS Mr Sam Lawi Rikwens, also the major sponsor of the competition in person of Ms. John Julie Dauri of Duchess in Jalingo, Taraba State.
While the strongly contested results were announced with Federal Government Girls College, Jalingo coming first as the overall compilation 62.66 points, Bames Excellent School and Jetters Montessori Schools emerge second position with 56 points respectively.
At the end of the event, the Zonal Inspector (Jalingo Zone) Mr. Luka Kwaghe gave thanked to the organizers of the Competition and the teachers as well, for their input in preparing the students.
Further more, he called on all the CDS Group under the NYSC to come up with such event in their host community in giving deep fount of knowledge as it is one of the NYSC four Cardinals
