The people of Rufu and Lissam communities in Ussa Local Government Area are said to have engaged in a battle on Friday which led to massive destruction of properties, houses and other valuables items.
Speaking with our correspondent, the chairman of Ussa Local Government Area Rimamsikwe Hassan Karma admitted that the people took law into their hand by going as far as attacking themselves and destroying valuables properties.
He explained that the crisis was necessitated by one of the communities who came out with masquerades and those masquerades violence went out beaten up a pastor, and that triggered the other community to a reprisal attack.
Though no casualty, as at the time of filing this report was recorded, the chairman however, confirmed that three persons were inflicted with various degrees of injuries, and that they are presently responding to treatment in the hospital.
The Ussa chairman said heavily armed mobile policemen and soldiers have been deployed to the area to ensure hope and calm the tension in the communities.
the chairman confirmed that curfew has been imposed on the land starting from seven in the evening to six in the morning which he believed would restore the much desired normalcy to the area.
Rimamsikwe Hassan Karma acknowledge that he succeeded in holding an emergency security meeting with all the security chiefs in the council as well as stakeholders from the warring communities, the need for the two parties to as a matter of urgency lay down their war implements and embrace peace for the growth and development of the area
