e Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed the suspension of some airport officials for allegedly collecting money forceful From a passenger at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos state.
Ms. Henrietta Yakubu, FAAN’s General Manager of Corporate Affairs, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos on Saturday.
The MG of the aviation mrs. Yakubu said, the action was in line with management’s determination to rid the nation’s airport of corrupt officials.
She speaks further saying, the officials are staff from the Authority’s Aviation Security and Customer Service departments and have been suspended with immediate effect.
He said the guard card of his Nigerian Immigration Service accomplice had been taken away.
Yakubu said the action was taken to filter other bad eggs in the system who are bent on tarnishing the country’s image.
Reacting to this, the general manager of the cooperate affairs, Mrs. Yakubu charged the official to take their hands off corruption as that will not help them achieve the mission and vision of the organization.
