Those who were slain at the Lekki Toll Gate need to be compensated - Falz

 POPULAR Folarin Falana, commonly known as Falz, a Nigerian rapper, has stated that victims of the Lekki Toll Gate tragedy on October 20, 2020, must be compensated.

Falz, who was an outspoken supporter of the #EndSARS movement, responded to the conclusions of the panel set up to investigate the event in an Instagram post.

He also requested that the panel's recommendations be fully implemented.

"I can't believe these monsters made us feel we were insane." Something we witnessed live on Instagram. In any case, the panel report is now available, and it is crystal obvious," he stated.

"Just in case you thought we'd back down at some time," says the narrator. That has never been an option, and it will never be.

"All of these suggestions must be properly executed. "Justice is the very least that these innocent individuals deserve!"

In a report delivered to the Lagos State government on Monday, the #EndSARS panel said the Nigerian Army was responsible for a slaughter at the Lekki Toll Gate

It was determined that the Army discharged live bullets at demonstrators, resulting in deaths and severe gunshot injuries, based on the testimony of victims, eyewitnesses, and independent specialists who examined the film captured during the event.

The ICIR obtained a copy of the report, which said that nine demonstrators were verified deceased and four more were assumed dead.

The event in Lekki claimed the lives of 48 people, according to the report.

24 of the 48 victims suffered gunshot wounds, while 15 others were beaten by military and police.

A Forensic Pathologist from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, John Obafunwa, also brought 96 additional bodies to the panel.

The commission recommended that the cops involved in the deadly shooting of unarmed and nonviolent protestors be fired immediately.

It was also suggested that, as long as the Toll Gate survives, October 20 be designated as a "toll-free day" at the plaza.

The study suggested that the Lekki Toll Plaza be renamed the #EndSARS Toll Gate as a legacy to the protest.
