BSU: Students Lavishly Expresses Alarming The School Fee Increases

I have heard and many students have contacted me on the rumor making the rounds that school fees for this session has been increased particularly with regards to final year students.

Before I proceed however it is pertinent to state unequivocally without reservations that My administration will never be in support of any action or decision taken by the management that is not in the interest of the students of Benue State University.

The contention here is that school fees for final year students has been increased, some allegedly by 10% some by 5%.

I have researched on the matter and to the best of my knowledge school fees structure for this session is yet to be released, the university portal is still not updated for most students myself inclusive, and the Union has been on that matter since last week.

Secondly, admist all the allegations one question is yet to be answered, the school fees has been increased by how much?

I must herein register my disappointment in all you social media comrades.

We are Students, we are leaders, we are supposed to be activists, we are supposed to be change makers... it is disappointing that the best we can do when issues arise is to turn to the blue app and without confirmation or getting facts,we bump straight into insults and make posts.

Now I believe the success of a leader depends mostly on the success of his predecessors, since the batton is usually passed down.

once upon a time, in the history of BSU the higher you go lesser your tuition, however, it is on record that the last administration, the Prof. Msugh Kembe's administration, changed it such that set of students admitted, pay a static amount until their graduation, that is to say upon admission into 100 level, your tuition fee is higher than the set before you but is reduced at 200level and remains the same until you graduate.

You will find attached below, school fees receipts of Students who just graduated for the last two sessions, 2018/2019 & 2019/2020 Academic session.

Same goes for 2016/2017 academic session same is the case with me.

My fellow students, you have elected us to serve and that we have been doing diligently without rest, however you have forgotten that this responsibility is a collective one.

My administration has been and will always be for the students.

On every issue affecting the welfare of the students we have taken it up to it's logical conclusion, we have revived structures that were underwater,

When the No Registration No Exam Policy was implemented, barring Students from taking exams on account of non-payment of School fees, we fought to see the portal reopened.

Under my administration The school clinic is functional again after continuous efforts and interaction with the management.

For the First time, We celebrated Students Union week, recognizing and celebrating and by that encouraging our talents with out hitches and has been adjudged by many as one of the best in time.

It is on record that since the administration of Dr. Chuwan Martins, the students Union has no office accomodation, even the Secretariat that was burgled, has not been functional,

Under my administration, through continuous agitations we have secured two office spaces at the students at the students center and a shop that the union will start operating this session, all in the interest of Students.

We are equally in the process of establishing a student Magazine that will give us all a voice on issues and policies affecting us.

We have represented Benue State University Students home and beyond on countless times on all platforms.

I have been serving you to the best of my ability and will continue to serve.

Let me rest to say that, am open to criticism, correct me where I'm wrong and advise while I continue to offer my candid widow's mite.

Meanwhile, Aluta Continua
