A ray of hope is set to glitters on the faces of Apa/Agatu federal constituency as the FG has awarded the construction of a 0.4km Otakpa Alifeti Apa/Agatu federal constituency road with immediate effect.
The road which has being in shambles for more than two decades, have been approved to be constructed within twelve weeks.
This was contained in a statement signed by the deputy director procurement of the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Musa A. Musa as approved on the 10th Sept. 2021.
" I am directed to inform you, that the ministerial tenders board at its third meeting held on 1st September 2021 approved the award of contract for the construction of 0.4km Asphaltic Road at Otakpa, Alifeti Apa/ Agatu federal constituency Benue state , with a completion period of twelve weeks with effect from the date of the letter".
To further stress the urgency of the project, the contractor is required to submit a letter of acceptance within five days of reception.
"You are therefore required to indicate in writing five (5) Days of receipt of this effect of this offer your acceptance to the to the office of the director procurement FMA& RD, Abuja or otherwise, the offer will be considered lapsed. Whereafter, you are to liaise with the director (Rural Development) for adequate supervision of the contract and the director (legal services) for singing of the contract agreement".
The letter therefore holds that on no account should the project be transferable or subject to price variation.
Its says, "Please also note that the contract is not transferable and the cost is fixed firm and request for price variation will not be entertained. It is expected that the contract will be executed in strict compliance with the BOQ /specification and in line with the relevant clauses in the in the bidding document and contract agreements".
However the people of the constituency owe their profound appreciation to the Hon member representing Apa and Agatu federal constituency, Hon. Samuel Godday for dogged efforts put in place to ensure the federal government attention channeled towards such a laudable project in the constituency.
Reacting to this the entire people of Apa were excited over the good news. Bar. Hassan expressed his gratitude to God for an answer to prayer.
Saying, "Wow...! What a marvelous God we serve. Finally, my childhood prayers and wishes have been answered and will eventually come to pass.
"Thank you so much Hon. Samuel Godday for all your efforts to make sure this dream comes through.
"May God continue to bless you, keep you safe in good health always and open more doors for you 🙏My late Dad will also be pleased with this from heaven because one of his many wishes and important one about Otakpa is about to become a reality.
"Michael Alhassan was very passionate and deliberate when it comes to his village and would always say if there is a good road to Otakpa, No village can be compared to it and more developments will get there in no time becauseeven without a good access road they had a good school at a time, Nipost, a police station and a primary health care center.
"So waking up to this great news this morning really means a whole lot to me. I pray for more achievements and success to the glory of God. Amen 🙏 thank you all and may we remain blessed".
