A Poem By Peter Ochohepo "Agatu My Homeland" (Part 2)

Indeed, we have a home,

A place we can call our own,

Where our voices can be loud enough

Enough, not for chaos but for love,

United and peaceful like pigeons and doves.

Where green snakes in green grasses loose their holds,

And not being able to pursue their thirsty lusts.

Against all odds and sods, the wicked must fall

Oh, Agatu my homeland,

How long shall this evil thrive and our people continue to die?

Die by our own swords drawn against ourselves.

How long shall this hate last,

that our long standing brotherhood continue to batter?

How long shall we continue to speak of clans,

That our gaps continue to grow wider?

Agatu my beloveth homeland,

Where is thy brotherly love which existed over the years?

Hundreds of years before the era of evil and quest for supremacy.

Agatu my homeland,

When shall thy sons and daughters realise,

That yea are blessed with diverse heritages?

Heritages that others seek dearly to no avail.

When shall thy elites and youths realise,

That family battles are better won through dialogues?

And thy kings and leaders teach forgiveness not hatred?

When shall thy strong men speak in one voice against the real enemies?

The enemies that seek to break your bonds and destroy your nucleus.

Oh, Agatu my homeland,

The time is come for us to love and forgive,

Let go our pains and take the stage.

Evil must give way, for truth and peace to prevail.

The dead may not rise but the living must live for life to thrive,

Hurting and bitterness are inevitable,

But love and forgiveness conquers all

Agatu my motherland,

The time to start is now.

To be continued...
