Those who have walked the way of the spirit, understand the laws that guide spiritual victory. In the order of importance, vows and sacrifices are powerful instruments that provoke supernatural results. Apart from the experience of Jephthah in today's reading (Judges 11:29-39a), we shall also understand the meaning of consecration.
1. VICTORIES HAVE PRICES
The Spirit of the Lord came upon a warlord called Jephthah and he went into the battle. But midway into the war, it became very difficult to win. Suddenly he discovered that, the anointing for victory upon him could not sustain the present challenge. But wisdom thought him to make a fresh vow. And he vowed to sacrifice the first thing to Greet him from his house after his victory. Immediately he made this vow, fresh supernatural energy came upon him and victory was released. You see, friends, we must be wise enough to know that simply because God sent you, is not a guarantee for victory, you must pay prices in order to connect to the ultimate price of Christ. You must be ready to offer up things that are antagonistic to the victory you seek, no matter how deep you love them.
2. MAKE A HIGHER CONSECRATION
In the order of principles, consecration is higher than vows. In vows, we offer up something we cherish, but in consecration, we offer up our whole self. If you are engaged in a life threatening battle, especially in ministry, the easiest way to provoke heaven and save yourself much stress is to consecrate yourself. You can consecrate your ears by deciding never to listen to worldly musics or gossip. You can consecrate your eyes by deciding never to watch profane things including Big Brother Naija. You can consecrate your heart by deciding never to keep malice no matter the offence. The point is, such consecration becomes your window to supernatural encounters. For instance, a man who has consecrated his eyes will have power in his eyes. If he gazes at you, all demonic forces around you will bow. The saintly Bishop Michael Eneja was reputed to have used his eyes like a baby's eyes even at a very riped age. He never used glasses and could read dots from afar. Amen?
Receive grace to give up what you need to give up and gain instant victory in Jesus name. Amen.
